My Garden Tour

My garden has been so blissful this year.  I'm ashamed to say that it is probably from all the rain and snow that I complained so bitterly about early this spring.  Also the weather has stayed so lovely and on the coolish side and it has been wonderful for all my plants.  Even some of the things that usually struggle have filled in so nicely.  So just for fun I thought I would take you on a virtual tour of my garden and show you some of my favorite spots in my garden.  Enjoy!  Happy Gardening to you all!

I love pansies and this little sunflower rock path

Zinnias are the happiest flowers!

Love all my little zinnias

My peonies and lovely vincas!

Love to feed the birds

My little waterfall

It cascades right into my pond

My happy back porch

My front entry way with my fountain and a lovely little curve of grass just big enough to sit and think!

The greenery has loved the mucho water!

My Herb Garden

My Rose Garden

This is a lovely little rose I received for Mother's Day last year.  I was happy it made it through the winter!
Thanks Chris and Nadia!

My new garden shed!  Isn't it beautiful!

The Competition Gets Stiff!

So Amanda and Mackay got a jump start on Liz but eventually she planted her garden too!  I added some more rules, they have to weed around their gardens and keep the gravel walks weed free....hee, hee!  I'm liking this!  Amanda came home from working at the Beehive Home last friday and said that Pops (one of the residents there) had given her a secret weapon to use on her garden and she was going to sneak out in the middle of the night and use it so no one else could see it!  Mackay has been sneaking out to check on his garden and the other night I found him out there with a flash light spraying a secret organic mixture to ward off pests that he found on the internet.  He said he didn't want to spray his tomatoes with chemicals.  Wow!  So here is some new pictures with a few weeks of sunshine and tender loving care!  Maybe you will all have to help me judge them, they are all looking pretty good!  Did I forget to tell you there is $100 in it for the winner?  Yep!  That's what is happening at the Beagles this summer.....Garden Wars!

Mackay's Little Utopia

Amanda's Garden of Beauty

Liz's Faith Garden (she planted seeds)

The Garden Contest

It's a friendly competition just between my kids!  I was having such a hard time getting inspired to plant my extensive square foot gardens that I happened upon a solution.  I proposed that each of the kids take a 3 by 3 garden and make it their own this year!  We went to the garden center and they got to buy whatever they wanted to grow.  (Will rethink this one as they spent a lot of money, next year there will be a cap!)  I told them we would judge on beauty and productivity!  So here's how it went!

Hmmmmm.......studying it out!

Learning about compost and water!

That face that says.....I'm going to win!

We're just getting started here.....just you wait!

Now comes the fun part!
